Helping communities comply with state and federal environmental regulations without resorting to expensive mechanical plants.
Bio-Domes’ award-winning, patented technology consists of concentrically nested domes that are infused with air from the bottom.
Whether yours is an existing system, or new construction, Bio-Domes can help minimize the expense of your treatment system.
SKILLED & TRAINED PERSONNEL
We provide professional engineering services to assess the unique needs and circumstances of each lagoon environment.
Will this remove ammonia in cold water?
Our systems are proven to treat ammonia in water temperatures as low as 0.5°C.
How much power does this use?
Each Bio-Dome uses an estimated 0.1 hp. These systems meet “Green Energy” requirements. Also, we have clients that operate completely on solar-powered systems.
Can you treat shallow water?
Yes. Our systems provide efficient treatments in as little as 3.5ft.
Can you treat deep water?
Our standard system is designed for a 6-14 ft’ deep water system. Additionally, we are used in locations with water as deep as 24 ft’.
Will this work with Brackish Water?
Yes. Since our systems work to enable native bacteria to establish itself and then flourish, our systems will provide simple, economical, and efficient treatment anywhere natural bacteria is present.
How much maintenance is required?
All of our systems utilize zero moving/mechanical parts in the wastewater, virtually eliminating the need of maintenance. We do recommend a monthly “air purge”, which is performed using the blower package that supports the system. This land-based blower package will also require quarterly fluid and filter changes.
How often do you have to remove the units?
The materials within each unit are designed to withstand the continual use of over 40 years of service. We do not recommend any service that requires the removal of the units. Once every 20 years, we recommend that you change the hose that connects the blower to the system.
What if I only need treatment in select seasons of the year?
We have installations in many locations that have a seasonal service period. In these locations, they simply power down the system for the duration of the time that the units are not needed. Once the need for treatment arises, they simply restart the system.
Are there lease, rent, or payment options?
Yes, we offer both rental, financing, and leasing options, and will work to determine what best meets our client’s needs.
Is there a performance guarantee?
Every one of our systems comes with a 12-month mechanical and performance guarantee. If additional length is needed, please work with our team to deliver a site-specific plan. If unforeseen problems arise, they can usually be solved by adding more Bio-Domes to the system to meet our guaranteed effluent limits. We will work with you to resolve any issues.
Will this remediate bad odors?
Absolutely! Odors are an annoyance to everyone close to a lagoon system. If your system is experiencing frequent foul odors, please work with our professional team to design a system that will efficiently treat your system while also ensuring odors are controlled.
What our customers have to say
WCS’ Bio-Domes saved us millions of dollars, brought us into regulatory compliance and provided us with significant room for growth, all at a cost far lower than competing alternatives. I highly recommend the use of their Bio-Domes in lagoons.
We decided on the WCS Bio-Dome treatment system to avoid spending $2 Million on our wastewater plant. We benefit from the Bio-Domes in reducing ammonia levels and the baffle curtain for algae reduction in our ponds at very low O&M costs.
The floating cover in our final pond completely solved our TSS problem by knocking out algae in the effluent.
