New Castle, VA Evaluating the Bio-Domes – July 2011

New Castle, VA has begun evaluating the Bio-Domes to evaluate their effectiveness in reducing Algae concentrations in their wastewater effluent during the summer months. Initially, the community was planning on installing sand filters. If the pilot study, intended to go through the end of September, is successful; the Bio-Domes will save the community thousands of dollars in capital cost with significant O&M savings as well.
